When your soul chooses to be born into a Shia Muslim Afghan family in Minnesota, USA, you came to evolve us. You came as an ambassador of the New in the face of the Old. We have reached a point in our evolution where the old institutions that dis-empower people must die. The way this plays out is through very real relationships connected by heart-strings.
As a young adult trying to navigate the world, you followed your parents’ traditional ways and the doctor perscribed you pills to numb the pain of the disconnect from your truth. You hit rock-bottom, woke up, and remembered yourself. You began to live for you no matter how much they fought for dear life to keep you as a symbol of their success. Their culture had already convinced them that they were nothing without their large house and obedient family, so they were very invested in you.
You came here to prevent that way of darkness from continuing on. But the old institutions won’t die without a fight. When you celebrated your new-found self-love by participating in the Nu Project with the intent to empower women who look different than what we typically see in the media, your parents called in tears, “why don’t you just shoot us.” Their tender Shia hearts could not understand, but there was nothing you could do for them other than to tell them to try to calm down, that it would all be okay as their institution fell away.
Your graceful warrior soul came here to inspire us all who are blazing a trail of authenticity, with love. Namaste.
